Mansoor Jiwani has been involved in the industry at various capacities for over 36 years.

Trained by Swiss Chefs , he graduated from Kenya Utalii College in 1978,. During his time at Utalii he had the privilege to represent Kenya at Hotelympia – International Hotel Schools competition in London and brought back the first Silver Medal for Kenya.

He further pursued his career and took up several positions at the Utalii Hotel and subsequently working as a lecturer in the same institution. In 2002, he initiated the first ever culinary programme called Vote and Win with Go Places. He and his team have been working on this programme since, and now are bringing by great public demand at the Chefs Delights Awards.

Felix Huwyler is the founder of the The Top Chefs Culinary Institute and has worked in East Africa, as an executive chef, for 28 years. He was a senior lecturer at Kenya Utalii College and the Swiss Hotel School in Lausanne, Switzerland and has gained wide experience of high class establishments in St.Moritz, Arosa , Zurich , London, Canada and Singapore.

The Top Chefs Culinary Institute is a specialized Training School for the Catering Industry such as Chefs and Pastry Chefs of high international Standard providing day to day theoretical and practical Classesctical Classes


Chef Tom Owino

Chef Tom Owino’s lustrous career has seen him work at numerous establishments and garnered priceless experience that makes him one of the region’s most sought after culinary specialists.

He runs Chef Tom Culinary Service Tanzania. Here he is involved with many activities carried out by experienced culinary artists focused on bringing to the public the most creative and delicious food offerings in East Africa. Chef Tom has worked at many capacities including; writing a food column for the Nation Newspaper, Chef senior de partie Norfolk Hotel Nairobi, Senior Sous Chef at Fairview Hotel, Executive Chef at Palacina Moonflower Restaurant, Advisory Chef Bidco East Africa, Group Training chef Sopa Lodges Tanzania and Executive Advisory Chef at the New Arusha Hotel Tanzania. Chef Tom was the founder and organizer of World Chefs’ Day Kenya Chapter.

Passionate about wine and all things related to wine, Cape Sommelier Nicci Pain has been in the industry for 13 years, working both locally and internationally. From a family that loves good food and wine, Nicci has travelled extensively, absorbing the culinary pleasures of many different destinations worldwide.

Being Cape Sommelier, Nicci is an authority on South African wines. This title means that she is able to ensure that wine lovers are able to find a wine within their budget that fits their tastes and complements their food. Nicci is currently the International Sales Manager East Africa for DGB. She has previously worked for Wines of the World as Consultant/ International Spirits Brand Manager.

Her goal is to create a learning environment for the younger generation through training and mentorship in the field of Sales and Marketing and Customer Service.

Her latest product offering is a -Food and Beverage Customer Service Workshop, that addresses the very core of service
